Just a week has passed since the release of Languages, the video with the creative proposals of the 58th edition of Filo elaborated by Gianni Bologna: the views already achieved confirm the innovative role that the formula chosen by Filo plays in the textile panorama.

Not suggestions, but real technical-stylistic hints: this is the essential characteristic of the “Dialoghi Creativi” launched at each edition by Filo. The exhibitors and more generally the professionals of the textile industry thus have at their disposal an entire “virtual book” of textile solutions, which can be consulted at any time and in any part of the world: an agile and precious work-tool, which assists companies in the realization of their collections.
For the 58th edition of Filo the theme chosen by Gianni Bologna is “Languages”. Declined along four textile inspirations, in “Pictograms” it proposes far from rough rusticity surfaces. The yarns, which are often hefty, show some twistings that move the surfaces and result in moderate but visible patterns. Fibres are primarily natural without excluding interventions of man-made components aiming at livening up the structure of twisting. Opaqueness is the main feature.
“Body language” shows lightness and airy volumes, drapery and movements with eminently linear, thin or medium yarns, inspired to silky school. In “Emoji” hybridisation of genres which renovates the most traditional features of clothing. Materials, both for orthogonal fabrics and circular ones, are multiple but mainly based on cotton and man-made. Processes of finishing, coating, polishing and three-dimensional effects of surface are important. Finally, the luxury of “Silence” is built on basic weaves as plain, twill, satin, and crepe, and gives great importance to crepe.
