Noble fibres at Filo: The Woolmark Company

Fibres, especially the noble ones, resume their leading role at the 57th edition of Filo. The organisers’ choice results from considering that products’ effective sustainability and traceability can be reached only through a supply chain’s perspective.
Obviously, if we talk about noble fibres, the fibre par excellence is wool. This is why the Woolmark Company will be present at the 57th edition of Filo.

The Woolmark Company promotes Australian Merino wool worldwide, apart from carrying out a rich and intense R&D activity. Together with Filo, it shares the care for sustainability: Australian Merino wool is indeed a 100% natural fibre; therefore, it is sustainable by definition, since it is renewable and biodegradable.
The presence of The Woolmark Company at Filo offers visitors and exhibitors the opportunity to delve into the versality and the characteristics of this noble fibre: it is soft, resistant, breathable, able to absorb humidity and to be resistant to smells. All these qualities facilitate the use of this fibre for many purposes and scopes, from haute couture to luxury, sportswear and high-performance garments.

The Woolmark Company also brings to Filo its vision about wool’s future and the strategies to put into action in favour of all players belonging to textile supply chain and about the new opportunities developing in global markets’ changes occurring today. In doing this, it will be the protagonist of one of ‘Dialoghi di Confronto’, held in Filo’s Networking Area during the two days of fair.

Woolmark Company at the “Dialoghi di Confronto” (February the 23rd at 2 p.m.) goes under an emblematic title “Wool: the future”, and the talk is led by Francesco Magri, Woolmark – Regional Manager, Central & Eastern Europe and Fabrizio Servente, Woolmark – Global Strategic Advisor.
