Filo64: an increasingly international exhibition

Since the very beginning, Filo has been an international fair: its exhibitors and visitors come from all over the world.

In recent years, Filo’s internalisation process has accelerated. As far as exhibitors are concerned, the increase in the number of foreign companies attending the fair took place in agreement with the strict criteria that Filo has given itself: high product quality, capacity for innovation, and compliance with environmental and social regulations.

The same applies to buyers. Filo focuses on “high quality” visitors, international professionals who can guarantee a real expansion in foreign markets to exhibitors, especially when it comes to SMEs, which may have greater difficulty in pursuing this goal.

Filo’s international expansion is the result of a team effort involving the companies themselves and Filo’s organisers, with the support of ITA Agency and Piedmont Region.

The collaboration between Filo and ITA Agency is long-standing and over the years has helped to strengthen Filo’s international role.
For the 64th edition of Filo, the synergy between Filo and ITA Agency – Rome has led to the organisation of a delegation of 40 buyers and journalists working in textile industry, coming from different European and non-European countries: Spain, France, Portugal, Hungary, Germany, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Finland, Switzerland, India, South Korea and China. Of particular interest, it’s the presence of professionals belonging to Texfor, the Spanish Textile Industry Confederation, representing around 400 companies in the sector.
ITA Agency has also renewed its sponsorship for this “Made in Filo”, the capsule collection of fabric samples produced by Filo using yarns from exhibitors. The Agency has acknowledged the importance of the ultimate objective of Filo’s initiative: highlighting the quality of manufacturing, particularly that of Made in Italy products.

Internationalisation remains at the core of the collaboration between Filo and Piedmont Region. Thanks to the activities of Piedmont Region’s Integrated Textile Supply Chain Project (PIF), financed by PR FESR 2021-2027 and implemented by Ceipiemonte – the Regional Agency for Internationalisation and Investment Attraction – a delegation of buyers from Denmark, the Netherlands, France, Ireland, the United Kingdom and Portugal will be attending the 64th edition of Filo. In addition to the visit at the fair, buyers will take part in forty B2B meetings with Piedmont’s companies, some of which will also take place in Biella area: a real opportunity to learn more about the manufacturing excellence of the Biellese textile district.

The 64th edition of Filo takes place on September the 23rd and the 24th at Fiera Milano Rho, Hall 14.
