For years, Filo has given ample space to fibers, to offer visitors and exhibitors a vision as broad as possible of the supply chain and to encourage the development of collaboration between the different stages from upstream to downstream. In this process, Filo has found the full collaboration of leading companies in the textile sector, such as Lenzing.

In particular, the TENCEL™ fiber, produced by the company based in Austria, greatly softens the hand of fabrics and is highly appreciated in blends with cotton, linen, hemp, wool, cashmere, silk, and often polyester, especially for sportswear and workwear to improve performance.

It is fantastic in blends with mechanically recycled cottons and wools. TENCEL™ Lyocell is known for its flexibility in giving silky hands or to obtain peach effects. This “flexibility”, however, requires specific knowledge of fiber fibrillation and the three types of Lyocell offered by Lenzing: TENCEL™ Lyocell standard, TENCEL™ Lyocell LF and TENCEL™ Lyocell A100.

As part of the “Dialoghi di Confronto” of the 63rd edition of Filo, Carlo Covini (Lenzing Business Manager Italy & Switzerland) will illustrate to the Filo audience the possible developments of the combination of such particular fibers, in the talk entitled “Cross-linked TENCEL™ fibers: The Ideal Partner for Blends with Natural & Recycled Fibers – Innovations with TENCEL™ Lyocell LF and TENCEL™ Lyocell 100”.
