If 2016 was characterised by economic uncertainties and geo-political crisis, in 2017 the top-of-the-range products is set with a total market value accounting for around 1.160 billion euro, with a growth by 5% at constant rates. These are the results presented by Osservatorio Altagamma 2017.
The expectations for 2018 show a consumption of luxury goods for the person, with an average increase by 5%. A general rediscovered confidence of consumers contributed to the recovery of the sector, which pushed both local consumption of Europeans, Americans and Asians and travelling purchases by Chinese people, without forgetting the fundamental return of tourists to Europe, increased by 11% compared to 2016. It has to be added the constant growth of online channel, that represents a value market equal to Japan.
