Today, yarns by Linificio are purchased by weaving mills all over the world for the creation of premium quality fabrics, used in the clothing, upholstery and home design sectors. Linificio e Canapificio Nazionale also supplies linen for more technical applications, from painters’ canvasses to the sails of vast ships, but also for new applications such as L!NCREDIBLE,the yarn used to obtain biodegradable and compostable packaging for fruit and vegetables, in partnership with KUKU International Packaging. The aim: to reduce the possible impact on the seas.
Due to its marked sense of responsibility towards the planet and the generations to come, since December 2021, Linificio e Canapificio Nazionale S.r.l. has chosen to take a further step and amend its statute to become a Benefit Company.
Benefit Companies integrate into their corporate purpose, besides normal profit objectives, the goal of achieving a positive impact on society and the biosphere.
Given the complex challenges we are all facing, Linificio believes that to build concrete innovation and sustainability, no company can afford to think as a single cell. For this reason, thanks to the partnership with Terre de Lin and local Italian farmers, it has also brought the cultivation of linen back to Italy by creating the first yarn grown in the country to the highest standards: “Italian linen” presented exclusively at Filo 2022.
