Filo65, a commitment to being international
PRESS RELEASE
Understanding and promoting the opportunities offered by foreign markets and fostering the global competitiveness of companies, especially small and medium ones, is one of the tasks of an international trade fair. Filo has been performing the job since its first edition, and today its exhibitors and visitors come from all over the world.
Filo’s commitment to internationalization is based on a fundamental criterion: quality.
The quality of exhibitors and collections on display, along with the quality of international visitors, is not only a key factor for Filo, but also a determining factor in the selection of its participants.
The commitment to quality is even more evident at Filo65. This edition is unique because it is held on the same days as the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, a highly attractive event that draws large numbers of people to Milan and puts Italy in the spotlight worldwide. However, this has posed some logistical challenges due to increased travel and accommodation costs, particularly for foreign buyers and visitors. And that makes quality an even more crucial factor.
Filo’s internationalization relies on teamwork involving the companies themselves and Filo organizers and includes effective collaboration with ITA- Italian Agency for the promotion abroad and internationalization of Italian companies, and the Piedmont Region.
The synergy built by Filo with ITA-Agency for the promotion abroad and internationalization of Italian companies over the years, which has helped strengthen Filo’s international profile. For the 65th edition, ITA-Agency has guaranteed its support to the fair, made clear by the presence of Matteo Masini, Head of the Consumer Goods Office, at the opening ceremony and by its renewed patronage of the “Made in Filo” project.
For the 65th edition of Filo, the synergy with ITA-Agency – Rome led to the organization of a delegation of 23 buyers from France, India, the United Kingdom, Portugal, China, Spain, Ireland, Hungary, and Finland.
ITA-Agency has also renewed its patronage of “Made in Filo,” the fabric collection entirely produced by Filo using exhibitors’ yarns. ITA-Agency recognized the importance of Filo’s initiative’s ultimate goal: to highlight the quality of Italian manufacturing, which boasts a highly valuable supply chain thanks to its ability to collaborate throughout the production process.
Internationalization is at the heart of the collaboration between Filo and the Piedmont Region, thanks to the Integrated Supply Chain Project (PIF) “Textiles,” funded by the ERDF 2021-2027 Regional Operational Program and managed through Ceipiemonte, the Regional Agency for Internationalization. As part of this project, during the 65th edition of Filo, “Buyers’ Days” will be held on February 12th and 13th, a unique opportunity to connect international buyers with the excellence of the Piedmont textile sector.
Nine professionals from Finland, France, Japan, Ireland, Portugal, and the United Kingdom will participate in the “Buyers’ Days.” Through a packed program of meetings, buyers will have the opportunity to explore new business opportunities with the Piedmont textile companies present at Filo. Furthermore, to foster an even deeper understanding of the Biella textile district, B2B meetings will continue in the area with additional local companies.
The 65th edition of Filo takes place on February 11 and 12, 2026 at Fiera Milano Rho, Hall 5.
