Filo61: “For yarn and for art”, color according to Cittadellarte

The 61st edition of the Filo, scheduled for the 28th and 29th of February at the MiCo Convention Center in Milan consolidates its collaboration with Cittadellarte Fashion B.E.S.T., Fondazione Pistoletto’s operational workshop dedicated to the development of sustainability in the textile sector.
Cittadellarte Fashion B.E.S.T.’s approach, which views fashion as a social responsibility, aims to promote a new balance between production and consumption. This challenge reflects the textile industry’s commitment to developing more responsible, sustainable, and circular production processes.
In the framework of the “Dialoghi di Confronto” of the 61st edition of Filo, Olga Pirazzi, head of Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto’s sustainable fashion office, together with the Accademia Unidee, will lead the talk “For yarn and for art: The philosophy of color between circularity and innovation.”

The discussion will focus on the importance of color not only in production processes, but also in its broader meaning as an enigmatic and symbolic element that through the centuries has influenced rituals, memory, and human emotions.
Human, artistic, and cultural reactions to colors also influence technological and scientific development in textiles, and today, thanks to new developments, the industry has at its disposal natural textile dyes that offer environmentally friendly alternatives to chemical colors, promoting sustainability in the textile and fashion supply chain.
At the 61st edition of Filo Cittadellarte Fashion B.E.S.T. also renews its partnership with Lenzing Group, presenting an exhibition installation made from recycled materials, highlighting its concrete commitment to environmental sustainability.
The 61st edition of Filo takes place on 28 and 29 February 2024 at Allianz MiCo – Milano (via Gattamelata 5).
