At Filo64 Sustainability and Responsible Innovation with C.L.A.S.S

Sustainability has already become an integral part of textile industry. In recent years, companies’ production systems have strongly changed to meet environmental and social criteria. Companies – including SMEs, upstream of the supply chain – are now more active in monitoring and conveying their ethical and social commitments.

Filo has always been at the forefront in promoting these values and, above all, in making the public aware of the strong efforts undertaken by exhibitors in pursuing them, as FiloFlow sustainability project, launched in 2019, shows.

Being aware that sustainability is not related to specific products and production processes, but is representing now a common denominator throughout the market, Filo has decided to change its approach towards a crucial topic for textile industry’s future: at the 64th edition, in addition to the Trends Area and the Quick Delivery Area, where companies exhibit their yarns, a dedicated space has been set up within the Networking Area that focuses on responsible innovation.

Turning a spotlight on the idea of responsible innovation, which today best defines the concept of “sustainability”, Filo has joined forces with C.L.A.S.S., a long-time partner. This season’s focus is on advanced natural and regenerated fibers, traceability, and next-generation communication – discussed in a dedicated space and explored in depth through two “Dialoghi di Confronto” talks: “The New Era of Fibers: Knowledge, Traceability, Research, and Sustainability” (September 23, 3:00 pm) and “InsideOut – Values: in Clarity Why Trust is the New Luxury” (September 24, 10:30 AM).
In a contemporary setting, the space showcases a carefully curated selection of materials and traceability platforms, with effective examples of responsible innovation, such as linen from Alliance for European Flax-Linen & Hemp, cupro Bemberg™ by Asahi Kasei, and Supima® cotton, and proposals from Haelixa. Inside the space, we also find a preview of InsideOut, a new-generation communication initiative: the project conceived by the eco-hub founded by Giusy Bettoni aims to highlight the authentic and measurable values – visible and invisible, inside and out – that define a forward-thinking wardrobe.

Designed to guide visitors along the path of responsible innovation, the interactive space that Filo dedicates to InsideOut offers textile professionals the opportunity to discover not only materials, but also inspiration, ideas, valuable insights and concrete tools that are crucial in shaping the future of textiles.

The collaboration between Filo and C.L.A.S.S. highlights how we can innovate responsibly and communicate this responsible innovation effectively, authentically, and transparently, both to the end consumer and the entire supply chain.

The 64th edition of Filo takes place scheduled on September 23rd and 24th at Fiera Milano Rho, Hall 14.
