The curtain rises on the 62nd edition of Filo

The 62nd edition of Filo, the International Yarns and Fibres Exhibition, opens today at Allianz MiCo – Milan (via Gattamelata 5).
From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the first day, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the second one, visitors and press agents can discover and experience first-hand yarns, fibres, materials, colouring, finishing processes, and high-quality manufacturing intended to top-of-the-range products.

The exhibition area is planned to give the highest possible visibility to exhibited products, through the functional disposition of companies’ booths, but also thanks to the increasingly appealing installations of the Area dedicated to Creative Dialogues – including the Trend Area, Quick Delivery Point and “Un Filo per la maglia” – where top products of the companies are shown.

The same criterion of the highest possible visibility of the collections is applied to the Sustainability Area, dedicated to the yarns and the materials carried out by following sustainable production pipeline by the companies participating in FiloFlow. The creative and high-quality richness of companies’ proposals are reflected in all these areas, which perfectly fit with a scenic design inspired by “Filo-Sophy” – the theme chosen by Gianni Bologna (responsible for Creativity and Style of Filo) for the creative proposals of the 62nd edition of Filo.

Complying with the ideas of efficiency, concreteness, and professionalism, which have always inspired Filo, the exhibition becomes increasingly international. In this sense, it is significant the presence of Matteo Masini, Manager of Consumer Goods Department of ITA- Agency, among the speakers of the inauguration ceremony. Moreover, as usual, the 62nd edition will host the delegation of foreign buyers organised in collaboration with ITA Agency – Rome; this year, the delegation is made up of thirty professionals and journalists working in this industry coming from the U.K., France, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Turkey, China, Denmark, and South Korea.
Internationalization is still the focus of the collaboration between Filo and the Regione Piemonte: thanks to the activity of the Progetto Integrato di Filiera (PIF) of the Regione Piemonte, financed by the P.R. FESR 2021-2027 and implemented through Ceipiemonte – the Regional Agency for Internationalization, at the 62nd edition of Filo a delegation of buyers from France, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Austria, Canada, Tunisia. In the context of the collaboration between Filo and the Regione Piemonte, at the end of the visit to the fair a day of b2b meetings is planned in the Biella area, which will allow the group of buyers to deepen their knowledge of the manufacturing excellence of the textile district.

Paolo Monfermoso, responsible for Filo, states that: “First of all, I would like to thank all those companies which renovate their trust in Filo annually, especially considering the current economic situation. I also want to thank ITA-Agency – Rome, Regione Piemonte and Ceipiemonte for their support in making Filo a landmark within the internation exhibition panorama. At the 62nd edition of Filo, as usual, buyers will find very high-quality products, characterised by innovative contents: giving visibility to producers’ commitment in developing textile solutions which meet the needs of the market, anticipating market trends, is the objective pursued by Filo since its foundation. We try to do this especially concerning such an urgent matter, as environmental and social sustainability, through FiloFlow project, which is already comprising most of the companies participating in Filo. Consequently, thanks to the quality and the innovation of their products, Filo managed to become particularly important within the international exhibition panorama.
In addition, through the 62nd edition of Filo, we continue our efforts to develop responsible creativity and innovation.
Our task, as a fair, is offering to the companies a working platform where to convey to professionals and consumers the values that underpin exhibitors’ production: quality, creativity, innovation, respect for people and work, and environment. With this view, I am pleased to stress that during
the inauguration ceremony of the 62nd edition, we are going to launch a ‘Green Innovation’ project, aiming at establishing a systemic business model of circular economy in the E.U. where, in Italy, Biella and Prato districts are the protagonists of a collaboration which involves institutions, research centres, and companies coming from these two territories.
The idea to ‘team up’ becomes real, and the eminent personalities participating in the inauguration ceremony will make it explicit through their first-hand experience. Once again, the approach of concreteness, professionalism, and efficiency, which have always distinguished Filo, prove to be the most immediate way to reach concrete and valid results.”
