SÜDWOLLE GROUP: A NEW ERA OF DENIM

Südwolle Group introduces a fresh approach to denim as part of its Fall/Winter 2027/2028 weaving yarn collection. This innovative development reimagines denim through a thoughtfully engineered wool–cotton construction, merging an indigo‑dyed cotton warp with a Merino wool weft for a fabric that feels familiar yet entirely renewed.

At the 65th edition of Filo, Südwolle Group presents new directions in contemporary weaving at booth F2, showcasing its Fall/Winter 2027/2028 weaving yarn collection alongside a forward-thinking Innovation Hub story: a reengineered wool–cotton denim.

Developed together with partners Berto Industria Tessile and The Woolmark Company, the project shows how wool can elevate denim’s comfort, breathability, and overall wearing experience while keeping the authentic look defined by a classic cotton warp.

Engineered in three weights, the fabric offers versatility for shirts, dresses, everyday wear, and structured pieces. The innovation is further enhanced by easy-care performance, enabling machine washing and tumble drying without compromising quality. Drawing on extensive trials and material expertise, it highlights how re‑engineered wool yarns can introduce a new dimension to denim while keeping the character that makes it instantly recognizable.
