Filo: international by nature
Filo is an international trade fair. It truly is, with visitors and exhibitors from all over the world. And a glance through the catalogue of companies taking part in Filo66 provides immediate confirmation of this.
Filo’s internationalisation is the result of a long-standing process, one to which the trade fair has been committed since its inception, and which grows stronger edition by edition. As far as exhibitors are concerned, this is a carefully considered expansion process, based on strict selection criteria centred on high product quality, capacity for innovation, and compliance with environmental and social standards.
Another Filo’s strengths is the high calibre of the buyers who visit the fair. Filo focuses on international professionals who can guarantee exhibitors genuine expansion in foreign markets, particularly as these are mostly small and medium-sized enterprises, which may face greater difficulties in pursuing this objective on their own.
In its internationalisation efforts, Filo has two ‘long-standing partners’: ITA – Italian Trade & Investment Agency – and the Piedmont Region.
For the 66th edition of Filo, the collaboration between Filo and the Rome office of ITA has led to the organisation of a delegation comprising around thirty buyers and press agents, coming from various European and non-European countries: France, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom,
Turkey and India.
For Filo66, ITA has also renewed its patronage of ‘Made in Filo’, the project conceived and implemented by Filo to create a collection of fabrics produced entirely by Filo using yarns supplied by the exhibitors.
The Agency has recognised the importance of the aim of Filo’s initiative: highlighting the quality of manufacturing, particularly that of ‘Made in Italy’. Internationalization lies at the heart of the collaboration between Filo and the Piedmont Region, developed within the framework of the Region’s “Textile” Integrated Supply Chain Project. Funded by the PR FESR 2021-2027 program, the initiative is implemented by Ceipiemonte, the agency dedicated to internationalization and investment attraction in the region. As part of the 66th edition of Filo, “Buyers’ Days” are scheduled; these events aim to connect top-tier Piedmontese textile companies exhibiting at the fair with international buyers – including a significant delegation from
the United Kingdom, a country with a rich textile heritage and a market of particular interest to Italian businesses. Featuring a schedule of over 20 pre-arranged appointments, the initiative – which takes place on the 16th and 17th of September – offers a valuable opportunity to foster new business prospects. The B2B meetings will continue in the Biella area, aiming to provide international industry professionals with a deeper understanding of the district and its companies.
The 66th Filo edition is held on the 15th and the 16th of September 2026 at Fiera Milano Rho, Hall 24.
