The 65th<\/sup> edition of Filo, the International Yarns and Fibres Exhibition, opens today at Fiera Milano Rho \u2013 Hall 5.<\/p>\n

From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the first day and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the second day, visitors and the press can discover yarns, fibres, materials, dyes, finishing and textile processes designed for the top-of-the-range market. From this point of view, Filo65 stands out as an edition proposing stylistic and technical high-quality contents. It is a clear signal that textile industry is sending to the market: at difficult times as current ones, only the ever-increasing quality of collections can make the whole system growing and developing.<\/p>\n

The most interesting new aspect of Filo65 is that it coincides with Lineapelle not only in terms of dates, but also in terms of exhibition spaces. This allows national and international buyers to gain a more complete overview of the textile industry’s proposals for the coming season. In fact, Filo\u2019s visitors can also visit the leather goods fair, while buyers attending Lineapelle have the opportunity to discover the collections shown at Filo.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, Fiera Milano Rho, the second largest exhibition centre in Europe, is a state-of-the-art venue that attracts professionals from all over the world and was chosen by Filo precisely for its functionality and efficiency, meeting even more effectively the needs of both exhibitors and visitors.<\/p>\n

Filo65 is organised according to a specific logical layout, designed to allow buyers and textile operators to easily visit the exhibition. Visitors come into direct contact with exhibitors’ collections through the Trends Area and the Quick Delivery Area. The ideal centrepiece of the 65th<\/sup> Filo edition is the \u2018Made in Filo\u2019 <\/em>area, which displays the fabrics belonging to this project, now in its third edition. This is a collection of fabrics entirely designed, produced and manufactured by Filo, by using yarns provided by exhibitors and processed by implementing the best manufacturing techniques. Filo is the only international trade fair which creates its own collection.<\/p>\n

The Sustainability Area, implemented in collaboration with C.L.A.S.S., offers experiences and case histories relating to native wools, a true example of responsible and contemporary textiles, where tradition and innovation mutually strengthen, giving rise to solid and competitive supply chains rooted in the local area. The Sustainability Area also features InsideOut by C.L.A.S.S.: the project aims to highlight and enhance every measurable aspect of the new generation wardrobe, giving voice to what often remains hidden in a garment: from ethics to traceability and transparency, from health to circularity.<\/p>\n

The supply chain and its value, when it is solid and capable of producing innovation, is at the heart of the Filo65 Opening Ceremony, entitled \u2018The Thread of the Supply Chain: synergies and added value to compete in the global market\u2019. The supply chain will also be the focus of many of the \u2018Dialoghi di Confronto\u2019, events taking place over the two days of Filo65, and aiming at discussing and addressing the most topical issues for the textile system.<\/p>\n

To continue its internationalisation process, during the 65th<\/sup> edition, Filo will host, as usual, a delegation of foreign buyers organised in collaboration with ITA Agency, for the promotion abroad and internationalisation of Italian companies, comprising 23 professionals working in the sector, mainly coming from European countries – France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Hungary, Finland – and from the fastest-growing areas of Asia, such as India and China. For this edition, ITA Agency has also renewed its sponsorship for \u201cMade in Filo\u201d.<\/p>\n

Internationalisation is once more at the core of the collaboration between Filo and the Piedmont Region. As part of the activities of the Piedmont Region’s Integrated Supply Chain Project (PIF) \u201cTextiles\u201d of the Piedmont Region, funded by the PR FESR 2021-2027 and implemented by Ceipiemonte \u2013 the Regional Agency for Internationalisation and Investment Attraction, the 65th<\/sup> edition of Filo will feature the \u2018Buyers\u2019 Days’<\/em>, a unique opportunity to connect international buyers from Finland, France, Japan, Ireland, Portugal and the United Kingdom with the excellence of Piedmont\u2019s textile industry.<\/p>\n

Paolo Monfermoso, Head of Filo, states: \u2018At the opening of the 65th<\/sup> Filo edition, our first thanks go, as always, to the companies that every year renew their trust in Filo. On this occasion, I would like to thank them especially for the truly high standard of the collections shown here. Claiming that the only way out of this industry\u2019s difficulties is to raise quality may sound like an obvious recipe; however, putting it into practice requires investments, expertise, research, passion and strength too: our exhibitors have succeeded in doing so, and the market will acknowledge it. I would also like to thank ITA Agency for supporting our exhibition and our initiatives, including its sponsorship for our \u2018Made in Filo\u2019 project. In addition, I want to thank the Piedmont Region and Ceipiemonte for their constant contribution in making Filo an increasingly important reference point for foreign buyers. However, my most heartfelt thanks on this occasion go to Lineapelle, which shared with Filo the idea that a strong and dynamic textile supply chain needs to be sustained by an efficient and integrated trade fair system, encouraging us to seek closer collaboration. On the other hand, it cannot be ignored that the coincidence with the Olympic Winter Games has caused some logistical problems , due to the price increase in travel and accommodation costs for foreign operators. For the exhibition system too, the answer lies in quality: increasing the quality of the services offered, while strengthening synergies and collaborations with other events.\u2019.<\/p>\n

Mr. Monfermoso continues: \u2018As always, we have worked to make our exhibition increasingly attractive. The exhibitors’ collections enrich the areas dedicated to research and innovation, from the Sustainability Area, implemeted in collaboration with C.L.A.S.S., to the space dedicated to \u2018Made in Filo\u2019, which offers concrete ideas and suggestions for the development of the items shown at Filo. The Network Area hosts discussions and analyses of those topical issues close to textile manufacturers through \u2018Dialoghi di Confronto\u2019, and before that, the Opening Ceremony of the 65th<\/sup> edition entitled \u2018The Thread of the Supply Chain: synergies and added value to compete in the global market\u2019.
