Once more Biella has reaffirmed itself as the capital of wool: indeed, the annual IWTO \u2013 International Wool Textile Organisation Round Table was held there, in the last days of November. Since its birth, the IWTO Wool Round Table has the task of outlining important theme linked to wool industry: during the edition of 2016, educations and wool industry’s vision for the future were the isuues on discussion.

\nEducation was the focus of the IWTO Wool Round Table first day in Biella. Education is considered a strategic factor for the future of the global wool industry. The debate defined the professional figures that are missing today and the opportunities to educate them through stimulating educational system, like the one set in Biella and based on Its (Technical Institute), Citt\u00e0 Studi, and the Biella Master delle Fibre Nobili. On this aspect, Ermanno Rondi, president of the committee for professional and technical training and Coordinator of the Education Board Confindustria Confindustria and Giorgio Rovero, from Politecnico of Turin, brought interesting contribution to the debate. While the second day brought wool growers together with retailers to explore opportunities for growth with wool textiles. Sessions addressed current challenges to both wool growers and retailers, focusing on how sustainability and best practice can translate into increased market share, as well as the latest developments in wool LCA and wool wellness science. Interesting ideas had been provided for the spread of wool\u2019s usage within new sectors, as sportswear and outdoor.<\/p>\n
