“WEAVING THE FUTURE”: THE OPENING CEREMONY OF FILO66

  • News

If the success of Filo66 reflects “a supply chain that remains strong and united” – as noted by Paolo Monfermoso, the responsible of Filo – it is hardly surprising that the supply chain was a major topic of discussion throughout the two-day event. The title of the opening ceremony spoke volumes in this regard: “Weaving the Future: The balance for a stronger, more competitive textile and fashion supply chain.”

The topic of an increasingly united, innovative, and responsible supply chain represents one of the key challenges for the future of the textile and fashion industry. Discussions during the opening Ceremony highlighted the various facets of the issue, as well as opportunities for growth and innovation, while exploring the ideal balance – a constantly evolving equilibrium, as noted by Sergio Tamborini, Past President of Confindustria Moda – needed to make the sector more cohesive, robust, and competitive.

The proceedings opened with a presentation by Paolo Monfermoso, responsible of Filo, followed by remarks from Pier Francesco Corcione, Director General of the Unione Industriale Biellese. Greetings were also offered by Matteo Masini, Head of the Consumer Goods Office at ITA (Italian Trade Agency); Emanuele Ramella Pralungo, President of the Province of Biella; and Fulvia Bacchi, CEO of Lineapelle – a fair with which Filo has established a fruitful partnership over recent editions. The second part of the Filo66 opening Ceremony featured a round-table discussion moderated by Laura Ricardi, Head of the Uib Press Office. Participants included Stefano Aglietta (Italfil SpA, President of the Spinning Section at the Unione Industriale Biellese); Marco Bortolini (Di.Vè, Uib Vice President for Industrial Supply Chain Development); Cesare Cigolini (Executive at Achille Pinto); Michele Pozzi (Commercial Director at Linificio e Canapificio Nazionale); Patrizia Salemi (HR Manager at Vimar 1991); and Sergio Tamborini (Past President of Confindustria Moda).
