A December’s week totally dedicated to the 51st edition of Filo: the yarns and fibres’ exhibition concluded successfully the road-show for the presentation in some Italian textile district: Biella, Prato and Milan.
The road-show for the presentation of Filo is a consolidated “format”, that gathers the ever-broader attendance and interest of companies exhibiting at Filo, and in general of professionals in the textile-apparel industry. The meetings held between the 10th and the 13th of December 2018 in Biella, Prato and Milan confirmed the trend. Paolo Monfermoso, manager of Filo, started from figures: “The reservations for the 51st Filo edition are going well, we have already outnumbered the square meters that have been sold last year during the same period”. Monfermoso then went on to illustrate the news for the next edition: “One of the characteristics on which the success of Filo has been built is concreteness. To further strengthen the effectiveness of the fair, we decided to intervene on the structure of the delegation of foreign buyers that we host at each edition thanks to the cooperation with ITA – Agency. The foreign delegation is an important investment for us, in terms of resources and organisation, therefore we want it to focus on the products exhibited at Filo and, consequently, to be concretely useful to the exhibitors. Indeed, from the next edition, we will select participants according to the indications of exhibitors, who have the most direct perception of markets’ trends”. Monfermoso then focused on Filo’s collaborations with ITA – Agency and Milano Unica: “We have built a very productive relationship with ITA Agency, not just related to foreign buyers’ delegation, but opened to many other initiatives. The most interesting one is the presence of Filo in France. We had already launched in September the 50th Filo edition in Paris, with great results in terms of flow of visitors and feedback from the press. For 2019, we will surely repeat the meeting with the professionals in Paris, probably adding a new stop in Lyon. Of course, we have a constant and direct relationship with Milano Unica, as it is natural for two fairs dedicated to two contiguous links of the textile supply chain. In this view, we will be back with our space in the Trend Area of Milano Unica from the 5th to the 7th of February. It is indeed an initiative that has given positive results, allowing us to propose Filo to a wider audience of international visitors”.
The 51st Filo edition will be held at the Palazzo delle Stelline in Milan on the 27th and 28th of February 2019.
The speech of Paolo Monfermoso during the meeting in Milan is available on the Filo’s YouTube channel (Filo International Yarns Exhibition).
