Sustainability will be the theme of the 48th edition of Filo scheduled at Palazzo delle Stelline in Milan on the 27th and 28th of September 2017. The exhibition inauguration’s conference, organised by Filo with Italian Trade Agency and Sistema Moda Italia, will be entitled “Il Filo delle filiere sostenibili” (“The fil-rouge of sustainable supply chains”).
“Being sustainable is the feature that today distinguishes products of excellence from all the others“, as Paolo Monfermoso (manager of Filo) has stated several times during the meetings for the presentation of September 2017 edition of Filo. It is so because we are talking here about a sustainability incorporating materials’ high quality, innovative production processes, attention and care for products manufacturing entrusted to skilled workers whose rights are totally respected. In addition, Filo is a business-to business exhibition, set at the beginning of the long path that from fibres reaches garments: it is indeed in the ideal position to promote and support the sustainability of the supply chain, the only one that really protects consumers. From this point of view, sustainability is a logical consequence of ‘beautiful and well-made’, the hallmark of the Italian textile tradition: the collections of yarns from exhibiting companies – both Italian and international ones – will prove this at Filo once again.
