MADE IN FILO: THE SUPPLY CHAIN AT THE CENTER

At Filo65 it reached its third edition, and the interest and appreciation of buyers and textile professionals has grown even further: Made in Filo is indeed a unique project in the panorama of international textile fairs.

Made in Filo is the fabric collection entirely designed and manufactured by Filo, starting with product development proposals by Fabric Designer Rossano Bisio, using exhibitors’ yarns and partnering with weaving and finishing companies. “Made in Filo is a supply chain project,” says Paolo Monfermoso, Responsible of Filo. “The key elements are the various stages of the manufacturing process, from spinning to weaving, through dyeing and finishing. Our goal is to offer Filo buyers and visitors tangible examples of the fabrics that can be created from the materials exhibited at the fair. It’s a project that fully captures the tremendous development potential of the excellent materials offered by exhibitors.” “There’s also another reason that drove us to take on the challenging task of ‘going into production, like a trade fair’,” Mr. Monfermoso concludes, “In a context that often views the fashion industry superficially, we want to highlight the technical aspects, both of the yarns and the processes employed. We thus want to further enhance the specific technical elements of the industry, promoting not only the glamorous and aesthetic contents, but above all the manufacturing contents.”
