Let’s meet at Filo

  • News

The opening of the 46th Filo edition, that will be held on the 28th and 29th of September 2016 – at Palazzo delle Stelline in Milan in Corso Magenta 61 (opening time 9 am – 6 pm for the first day and 9 am – 5 pm for the second one) – is only one week away.

What awaits us at the exhibition? First of all, exhibitors’ collections: all top quality ones and focused on increasingly specific needs within textile industry. It is possible to have an idea of the different proposals within the Trends Area, where companies’ tableaux are exhibited: starting from this edition, they are bigger and then not just more creative and effective, but also rich in a higher number of yarns.

Do not miss the exhibition on textile archives, curated by Centro Rete Biellese – Archivi tessile e moda (Textile Archives and Fashion): showing catalogues and evidence belonging to the heritage that is an inspiration for the present – and especially the future – of textile industry.

The ‘Black Room’ and the ‘White Room’, created by PoinTex – Polo di innovazione tessile, are totally dedicated to research and innovation within this sector: a door opening onto huge investigation projects within textile industry, but also the opportunity to study innovative solutions according to the needs of any company of this sector.

During the first day of Filo, at3 pm, the conference/inauguration of the 46th edition ‘Il Filo del Design’, that has been organised in cooperation with ITA-Italian Trade Agency and Sistema Moda Italia will be held: this will represent the opportunity to discuss about tradition, innovation and development’s strategies and internationalisation of textile companies.

To conclude the first working day, FiloHappening will occur: it is by now a tradition that gathers exhibitors, buyers and accredited journalists exchanging views and ideas during a cocktail offering typical food and beverages from Biella.

Paolo Monfermoso, general manager for Filo, explains that: ‘Companies which exhibit at Filo and buyers that visit our fair have all the credentials for looking at the near future with optimism. On the other hand, we know we are experiencing periods of strong geo-politic instability, that is why we wanted to strengthen even more the character of Filo as a business-to-business exhibition, offering true possibilities of meeting between supply and demand of yarns destined to high end products”.
