The “Dialoghi di Confronto” – the short talks that accompany the two days of Filo – are intended to enlarge the discussion on crucial issues for the textile industry. At the 58th edition of Filo, particular interest was raised by the research on the opportunities and challenges of the UK textile market, carried out by the Piedmont Region and Ceipiemonte as part of the “Textile” Integrated Supply Chain Project (PIF) promoted by the Piedmont Region and financed thanks to the POR-FESR Piedmont 2014-2020 funds.

Specifically researched for Filo and presented in one of the most popular among the “Dialoghi di Confronto” of the 58th edition, the study “UK Textile Industries: Opportunities and Challenges for the Future” first traces a picture of the UK textile industry, and then describe the opportunities that can be opened for Italian companies. Starting, for example, with “quality” and “luxury”, the two characteristics that UK consumers associate with Italian products. In addition, new opportunities for collaboration between foreign companies and British universities derive from research linked to sustainability and the circularity of products.
