The Filo Capsule Collection attracted the attention of all the participants at the 63rd edition of Filo. Filo’s intuition that it was necessary to propose to textile professionals the “translation into fabric” of the huge stylistic and technical potential of the yarns and materials exhibited at the fair has thus demonstrated its full validity. After the sensational debut, a new Filo Capsule Collection will once again spark the interest of professionals at the 64th edition of Filo.

THE ART OF FABRIC EXPLAINED BY THE FILO CAPSULE COLLECTION

The Filo Capsule Collection is a choral project, which has seen the participation of many players. The person in charge of designing the fabric samples starting from the exhibitors’ yarns was Fabric Designer Rossano Bisio. In this interview, Bisio takes stock of the reception received at the fair by the Filo Capsule Collection, focusing on the technical characteristics that were most appreciated: “The strongest appreciation was for the particular structures, developments built specifically for Filo and which reflect what also emerged during the opening ceremony of Filo63: the manufacturing and art of Italian fabric have a successful future if we manage to create increasingly sophisticated fabrics and products.”

TESSITURA ZANELLO: WHERE THE FILO CAPSULE COLLECTION BECAME REALITY

Quality and flexibility in fulfilling customer requests are the characteristics that have been at the heart of Tessitura Zanello’s activity since 1970. They are exactly the same characteristics that led Filo to choose this company for the actual creation of many of the fabric samples of the Filo Capsule Collection. Massimo Mazzia, Director of the Technical Department of Tessitura Zanello, explains: “I believe that the synergy created between the Tessitura and our customers, with the woolen mill’s designer, is fundamental for the creation of a fabric. And that is exactly what was created with Filo for the Filo Capsule Collection. The results are now there for all to see.”

RICAMIFICIO VITTORIO VANONI FOR THE FILO CAPSULE COLLECTION

One hundred years of history and therefore a heritage of knowledge within textile manufacturing: Ricamificio Vittorio Vanoni is one of the companies that worked with Filo in the production of the Filo Capsule Collection, embellishing the fabric samples with unique, specially designed embroideries. As Marco Coscia Vanoni (Production Manager of the Ricamificio) explains in the interview: “Our contribution to the Filo Capsule Collection was to enrich the fabrics made using the exhibitors’ yarns. And to do so we used different techniques, from traditional embroidery to the macramé technique, or the use of a lamé yarn to give shine and further highlight the base fabric supplied by Filo.”

FILO CAPSULE COLLECTION: THE PLAYERS

The Filo Capsule Collection is the collection of fabric prototypes made by Filo using yarns from exhibiting companies. It is a perfect example of collaboration between all the different stages of the textile supply chain present at Filo. Many players in various roles have contributed to its creation, first of all the exhibitors: the spinning mills that have provided the yarns to create the project and the dyeing plants with their processes. If the collection is the result of a synergy from producer to producer – or rather of a “dialogue”, according to a terminology long dear to Filo –, however the ultimate protagonists of the Filo Capsule Collection are those who will benefit from it, namely the visitors to Filo.

The Filo Capsule Collection will be on show at the 63rd edition of Filo: the fabric prototypes will be presented on totems especially designed to give them maximum prominence, located in the “Dialoghi Creativi” Area, in a section entirely reserved to product research and development and to production and transformation processes.

The Filo Capsule Collection is a perfect example of collaboration and synergy among the players of the textile supply chain present at Filo: spinning mills, dyeing, finishing, embroidery and weaving, for a result that offers prototypes of fabric of great quality and originality, characterized by complete traceability.
Moreover, Filo is a B2B fair, of “textile producers for producers of the fashion system”: this is why each fabric of the Filo Capsule Collection is accompanied by two technical sheets.

The Filo Capsule Collection showcases several fabric prototypes made with yarns from the exhibitors at the Salon, dyed and refined with products made available by the dye houses that have long participated in the Exhibition. The best way to fully appreciate and understand the contents of the Filo Capsule Collection is to personally “touch” it by visiting the 63rd edition of Filo, where it will be exhibited for the first time.
