A NEW ERA FOR NATURAL FIBERS

Are we sure we know everything about natural and regenerated fibers? They are widely used in textiles and clothing and have a strong reputation for sustainability. However, their capacity for innovation and new developments remain little explored. This was discussed in one of the “Dialoghi di Confronto” at the 64th edition of Filo, in the talk titled “The New Era of Fibers: Knowledge, Traceability, Research, and Sustainability,” moderated by Giusy Bettoni of C.L.A.S.S.

FLOWER POWER: THE BEAUTY OF NATURE ON PRINT

Natural fabrics, printed with the ancient technique of botanical printing and created to be unique. Crafted from fine silks, they become soft scarves, ideal for a thoughtful, nature-loving bride with a natural touch. Or linen can become the perfect curtain in a home where a passion for nature and plants reigns. This is the philosophy behind Flower Power, founded in 2003 as a floral artisan. At the 63rd edition of Filo, as part of the “Dialoghi di Confronto”, the talk “The Beauty of Nature Printed on Natural Fibers. Always Unique Results” featuring Monica Aghemo (owner of Flower Power) and Roberta Aghemo (communications and press office) sparked great curiosity and interest.

KIND TALKS TO BUILD SUSTAINABILITY, INNOVATION AND CIRCULARITY

A virtuous business philosophy, especially in the textile-fashion sector, cannot ignore a deep respect for the environment and resources, both natural and human. This is the mission that Fondazione Pistoletto Cittadellarte has been pursuing for some time. And it has given further confirmation with Kind Talks, a series of meetings organized with Blue of a Kind, under the patronage of Accademia Unidee. One of the debates took place on the occasion of the 63rd edition of Filo, as part of the “Dialoghi di Confronto”: the talk entitled “Kind talks: Materials and processes for innovation”, led by Olga Pirazzi (Fondazione Pistoletto Cittadellarte Fashion B.E.S.T.), focused on the material: fibers, yarns, fabrics at the center of the business strategy as an element around which to build sustainability, innovation and circularity.
