Carlo Piacenza is the new president of Unione Industriale Biellese. Piacenza succeeded Marilena Bolli and his mandate will last until 2020.
In his first speech as president of Unione Industriale Biellese, Carlo Piacenza wanted to stress the strong link existing between innovation and tradition, between past and future, which characterizes Biella area, made of an old manufacturing history. “We have to regain the ethical side of our job, recover pride in what we do – Piacenza stated – Biella has been a textile land for more than 500 years: we should re-discover this inestimable heritage. This heritage is a fundamental starting point for the future. In order to be re-charged, Biella area should regain the pride of its own textile roots and restart putting at the centre manufacture, the advanced one, which acts consistently with environment and ethics’. In summary, there are 6 priorities through which president Piacenza will direct its mandate: qualitative and quantitative growth for our companies, development of a new spread entrepreneurship, guarantee for competence, focus on training, preservation and development of supply chain, enhancement of ‘made-in’ of well-done and sustainable beauty; new industrial relationships.
