The countdown for the 48t edition of Filo has begun: we have just 3 weeks to reach the opening of the Yarns and Fibres’ Exhibition, scheduled to be held on the 27th and 28th of September at Palazzo delle Stelline in Milan. Also this edition has recorded an increase of exhibitors: there will be indeed 90 exhibitors taking part in the event. While the wait for top of the range yarns’ collections that will be shown during the fair is growing, the attention of operators is also focused on the guiding thread of this edition: sustainability.
Sustainability is a crucial topic for the future of textile-fashion industry, especially for those productions whose competitive factor is not simply represented by price. The 48th edition of Filo faces this theme in different times and ways. Within the Exhibition, there will be the usual area dedicated to the search for new solutions in products and textile pipelines together with PoinTex. In the meantime, the conference for the inauguration of the fair, organised by Filo in cooperation with ITA-Agency and Sistema Moda Italia, has been developed on this topic as can be simply followed from the title of the conference: ‘The thread of sustainable pipelines’ – the concept of sustainability is examined in various ways, highliting how sustainability represents a competitive advantage for those companies working within high end products’ industry, considering the increasingly high requests of consumers for having transparent and traceable products, as the most recent international researches studying this field have proved too.
