Tomorrow, on the 27th of September 2017 in Milan, the 48th edition of Filo, the yarns and fibres’ exhibition, will open. The fair is held at Palazzo delle Stelline (corso Magenta 61) and it will close on Thursday, the 28th of September 2017. On the first day, the exhibition is opened from 9 am to 6 pm, while on the second one it will be opened from 9 am to 5 pm.
There are more than 90 companies exhibiting at Filo: they are the best Italian and foreign producers of yarns for top-of-the-range products of weaving. There is also a selected group of service enterprises. The underlying principle of this edition of Filo is sustainability. Paolo Monfermoso, general manager of Filo, explains: ‘Sustainability is a key factor for companies focusing on products’ excellence to overcome price competition. In this sense, Filo’s exhibitors are showing yarns that are already sustainable. However, our aim is to make very clear which are the problems to face in order to reach a real sustainability of products of textile-apparel industry and in the meantime to open a discussion on what has been done by other chains linked to the fashion system. That is why we have dedicated the inauguration’s conference of the 48th edition of Filo to the ‘Thread of sustainable chains’. The conference is organised by Filo together with ITA-Agency and Sistema Moda Italia, proving the strong cooperation we have built up with these two organisations for strengthening and promoting Italian supply chain of textile and apparel industry. The debate on sustainability, started during the inauguration’s conference, will continue in a more informal way, during FiloHappening – the cocktail offered by Filo to all operators, journalists and participants in the conference of inauguration. The meeting is scheduled at 5.30 pm on the 27th of September, at FiloLounge.
