The 48th edition of Filo – that will open exactly in a week at Palazzo delle Stelline in Milan – has a common thread, pivotal for the sector’s future: sustainability.
The issue of sustainability is faced during the fair at various moments: first of all, the collections shown by the exhibitors are themselves evidences of sustainability within the textile industry; on the other hand, “Planet Earth” has been the inspiration for the Filo product development proposals, previewed by exhibitors during the Filo road-show meetings and now replicated in the Trends Area. Then attention moves on to the future thanks to the steady cooperation between Filo and PoinTex (Textile Innovation Hub). “At the 48th edition of Filo, we are turning the spotlight on sustainability, following the usual approach of our exhibition: concreteness, professionalism and efficacy – as Paolo Monfermoso, responsible for Filo, explains – For us, sustainability is an achievable goal just because it doesn’t chase utopias, but it gathers companies’ needs together with consumers’ ones and it is based on the values of the great tradition of Made in Italy textile-apparel industry, where product’s quality is the light guiding the whole production process along the supply chain”. Monfermoso concludes saying that: ‘For that reason, today, being ‘sustainable’ is the element distinguishing products of excellence from the others, as anyone can clearly see among Filo’s stands. And this is the characteristic which allows companies to face more successfully the new challenges of international markets”.
The 48th edition of Filo will be held on the 27th and 28th of September 2017 at Palazzo delle Stelline in Milan – Corso Magenta 61.
